One highlight of motion graphics is the ability to work independently of clients and deadline. This project was done in such fashion. Detailing the narrative of a personal addiction to caffeine something one in the design industry may know to well.
Visually “Dress Code” the company behind this animation achieves very stunning work. Mix of 2d elements, 3d compositing and great “digital ink” work.

As visual component this motion piece seems pretty straight forward. A trend many other designers have adapted over the last 2 years. Profiled on the bible for motion designers “Motionographer” blog. The artist Alex Mapar has worked in the industry for quite a few popular studios. Building a strong brand around his aesthetic visual take. Here a snippet of the interview Motionographer posted.
“I want to preface this incredibly indulgent answer (that’s the equivalent of me describing how I fine tune my lottery winnings) by saying how thankful and grateful I am every day for having this position of privilege. I have a nice job drawing pictures and making cartoons, that somehow pays the bills too. It’s amazing; I really mean that. There’s a million harder jobs out there and a million harder hardships to have to deal with, and I check my head with it every single day.”

Ash Thorp does it again. Despite the under whelming reviews everyone can agreed Ghost In The Shell highlights consist around it’s visual eye candy. Normal a piece like this would make it to my Daily Dose.
