Daily Dose “Twitter History” by Bullpen

Been a long 2022 and a longer 2023 so far. I’ve gone from working full-time to freelancing once again. This piece has really inspired my creativity. Motion Design in the last couple of years hasn’t felt very inspiring. A bit soulless really. Hope you folks enjoy! And more posting to come I promise.

About

This film was made as my graduation film of the Bachelor Animation at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts. I worked on this film for over half a year. I was animating for 4 months. The whole movie is ink on paper, after I animated it digitally.” as written by the creator. This is very impressive for a student project. I remember my student projects they sucked. HAHA

Daily Dose “The Boys in Red Hats Title Seq”

“Title sequence we developed for a documentary that explores the confrontation between a young, affluent student and a Native American elder on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial, an event that was recorded, went viral, and became known as the smirk heard around the world.
The Boys in the Red Hats deftly explores the media’s obsession with immediacy over accuracy, the danger in prioritizing intent over impact and what it’s going to take if we ever hope to bridge the deep divides in our communities–and our country.”

This project uses so many of my favorite compositing techniques. Great work!!

Daily Dose “Getty Museum – 2-Minute Time Machine – Beards”

One of the coolest animated features I’ve seen this past year. Its been a long while since I’ve felt the compulsion to write about a piece. This seems like the right influence for a rant. 2020 and 2021 have definitely become a struggle in the creative fields. Most ad work is starting to pick-up again and creators are fire on all cylinders. This piece art director is crafted beautifully. I’m a sucker for historical animations and info-graphics.
