One thing that evident is the global work place has shifted to freelance and contract individuals. The design industry is probably at the forefront of this revolution. Dealing with billing, contracts, client relations and still being creative is all too common. One of the top “Title Designers” gives folks some insight into his process via Motionographer interview. ( link here ) I’ve worked as a contractor during my serious learning phase for about 9 years. Btw in the design indsutry you should always have the student mentality / philosophy.
“I’ve been a freelancer for almost 10 years, and even though I’ve always worked remotely, I’ve managed to keep a close eye on the industry at large.
The distance makes it crucial that I’m aware of studios and people, who’re working where and doing what, which companies are thriving and which have seen better days. That’s how I feel close and connected to the industry without actually being there.
A big part of this is that I use social media to not only as a tool to promote my work but also as a way to keep track of other people are making. Instagram is becoming increasingly the best way to do that, as it seems to focus on design (at least in my feed). It also helps to get a bird’s eye view of trends in the industry, which can be a good way to escape them. ” – Filipe Carvalho

My first post of 2019 isn’t surprising. Spider-man is one of the most iconic comic characters in the world. The film that Sony released this fall was by far 2018 most graphically innovative collaborations. Studio Alma Mater is responsible for the images above and Adobe created a BTS video.

It’s been an eventful 2018. My love of design and art has grown exponentially. Motiontrgger is just a place where I get to express my appreciation for other in these communities. Usually “Best Of” lists make me cringe..haha Here are some places doing proper list for 2018 if that’s your thing.
