Daily Dose “Pause 2017”

I read the blurb from the artist on Art Of the Title website and thought his story was pretty inspiring. This self taught animator from China deciding to take on a career in the motion industry. This sequence is well stage and has a fair bit of vfx work that feels quite real. The cat is a little off though. haha.

“A discussion with title designer XIAOLIN “ZAOEYO” ZENG.

Could you give us a little background on yourself?

I was raised in a small city called Xiangtan in China. After my college entrance exams, I came across After Effects on Video Copilot. I got an average score and failed to be selected as an advertising major. After that, I was told by my parents that I should choose a major that would help me find a job. They thought accounting was the best choice based on how I’d scored on my exams, so I attended an economics and finance school. In the college, I was so angry about the course and the way teachers taught. Also, I ended up skipping a lot of my economics classes to stay in my dormitory learning After Effects. ”

A section of the piece written up by Art Of The Title website. read more

There was also a behind the scene of the project posted as well. I love these things. Artist work in varies ways and see software tools in their own creative terms.

Daily Dose “Igor + Valentine REEL”

It’s Show Reel time in the industry of motion. All the studios start showing off their year of cool visual design. Igor + Valentine put together a strong effort.

“Igor + Valentine is the shared creative mind of Matt Smithson and David Stanfield. The name does not refer to any two distinct people, but hints at a creative split personality that Matt and David share, get lost in, and ultimately choose to embrace.”
